Dear Friends of Christ Lutheran School,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! My name is Nathaniel Schmidtke and I am excited to join the staff at Christ Lutheran School. I have a passion and fire for Lutheran Education that was instilled in me by my parents at an early age. As I got older, my Father opened my eyes to the love and drive that goes into being a Lutheran Educator.

I’m proud to be joining the Lutheran education tradition here at CLS. As we prepare for the 2023-2024 school year we are looking forward to a great year as the students, faculty, and staff grow in the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Christ Lutheran Church has placed high value on Christian education for our children. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) Christ Lutheran School actually predates the founding of our congregation as it was founded in 1892. The first school building was dedicated in 1896 with 104 pupils enrolled. The current building was built in 1958 and the expansion of our school was completed in 2000.
Over the years the school building has changed, the principal and teachers have changed, the students have changed, but these things remain: sound academic training, dedicated teachers who serve the Lord, and the importance of the word of God in the students’ daily lives.
The mission of Christ Lutheran School is to partner with families to equip children academically and spiritually in a loving Christ-centered environment in order to prepare the next generation to be lifelong, faithful Christians.
